Jesus timeline from birth to death for kids

Can you give me a timeline of Jesus’ life?

Answer

Any timeline of Jesus’ life is speculative to some degree. None of the gospels present the life of Christ in chronological order. Rather, most of the material in the gospels is arranged in topical order according to those things that each individual author wanted to emphasize. Additionally, the writers include details that are important to their own themes, so in some instances it is difficult to tell whether a similar incident happened on two different occasions or if the same incident is simply told from a different perspective.

None of this should be a cause for concern regarding the trustworthiness of the gospels. None of the gospels claim to be comprehensive biographies, and in fact they are quite short given the amount of time they cover. The gospel writers were selective in their material. They give us a full understanding of who Jesus is, what He taught, and His significance for us today, but they do not give us a very good understanding of the order in which Jesus did things. That was not their purpose.

Jesus' birth and childhood

4 B.C. to 30 A.D.

In Jesus' day, birth announcements were not celebrated with the weight, length and exact date of the baby's birth like we do now. There were no Instagram posts with infant Jesus swathed in cotton-linen cuddling a Jellycat rabbit. But Luke and Matthew, two of the Bible's gospel writers, did include the details surrounding his actual birth. Thanks to these accounts, we can create this timeline of Jesus' arrival here on earth. It is no ordinary birth story.

After Herod's death the family travels back to Israel to live in Nazareth. We don't learn very much about Jesus life during this this time. The only other thing that is said about Jesus' childhood is that he grows up in height and wisdom and that he found favour with God and the people around him. There is one special event we are told about through. One quick peek into Jesus' childhood.

Around the age of 30, the story of Jesus' life picks up again. That's because the b

The Birth of Jesus

In the USA, December 25th (Christmas) is the date we commonly celebrate as the day Jesus was born, yet we really do not know the exact date of His birth.  Many scholars believe that Jesus was actually born in the fall of the year rather than in the winter.

Using the Fall of AD27 as the date of His baptism (see the Daniel 8 & 9 Timeline), and the passage that tells us that Jesus was "about 30" when He was baptized gives us the Fall of 4BC for the date of His birth.

Jesus, God's only begotten Son, left Heaven and was born to redeem us - "When the fullness of the time was come, God sent forth His Son...to redeem them that were under the law." Galatians 4:4, 5

Jesus was born in Bethlehem, in a "stinky old barn".  Why did He come as a baby, and why was He born in a "barn"? Why wasn't He born in a castle, or at least in a house?  In Heaven He had everything, why would He leave it all and be born as a man, in a bar
