Molotov Cocktail
To listen to the members of hot Mexican rap group Molotov talk, you’d think it’s a band that just wants to have fun.
“Listeners should keep in mind not to take everything [we say] real serious,” drummer Randy “El Gringo Loco” Ebright, 20, said in a recent interview. “We like to have fun. We talk about things that bother us in our lives as a way of release. But we do it in a sarcastic way.”
Nevertheless, Molotov’s fans and detractors take the politically charged rap of its debut album, “Donde jugaran las ninas?” (Where Will the Girls Play?), quite seriously. Molotov (band)
Mexican rock band
Molotov is a Mexican rock band formed in Mexico City in 1995. Their lyrics, which are rapped and sung by all members of the group, feature a mixture of Spanish and English. The band members also switch instruments and roles depending on what song they are performing. Molotov are one of the best-selling Latin bands of all-time, having sold more than four million copies of their albums worldwide. Although some media outlets describe them as one of the most irreverent in their genre, they are still considered one of the best in contemporary rock en español.[1][2][3]

Throughout 1996, the band played in many underground clubs in Mexico City and quickly began opening shows for some of the biggest bands of the time, including Héroes del Silencio and La Lupita, and Illya Kuryaki and The Valderramas. That were quickly discovered by Surco/Universal and within their first year of existence, they were offered a recording contract.
They quickly began production on their debut album under the direction of Latin Rock Svengali Gustavo Santaolalla and in July of 1997, they released their debut album ¿Dónde Jugarán las Niñas?, which took its name partly from Maná's album ¿Dónde Jugarán los Niños? generating controversy with stores refusing to sell it because of its lyrics and cover. The lyrics included a mixture of politics, sex and expletives, which made it hard for Molotov to enter mainstream media, but served as the d
