Praised by The Times for his “ethereal tone and beautiful control”, Alex Potter is one of the leading countertenors on the European musical scene.
Alongside numerous performances of works by Bach, Handel and other established composers, he takes particular interest in seeking out and singing lesser known repertoire in concerts and recordings under his own direction.
Countertenor Alex Potter makes a deep impression, particularly in the sublime "Erbarme dich" which he endows with a deeply moving humanity.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Porter.
Alex, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Being raised by a church-going single mother and grandmother, music has always been an enormous passion of mine. I started as a professional drummer at the age of 15, touring and playing for some of the biggest names in the industry. My talent is truly God-given. As I continued my journey, I discovered that I was also blessed with ability to sing. It wasn’t until I participated in a showcase at the House of Blues in Hollywood that I realized I was on the right path and exactly where I needed to be. Stevie Wonder was present at that showcase and it was his words of praise and encouragement that gave me the confidence I needed to realize there really was a place for me in this industry as long as I press forward. Now here I stand, stronger than ever ready to share my gifts with the world as an emerging RnB singer with an authentic 90’s RnB sound. Real RnB is on the comeback!
