Besa Kokëdhima is an Albanian singer. She was born 29 May 1986 and known simply as Besa, is a renowned Albanian vocalist.

Born into an Albanian family in Fier, Albania, Besa moved to the United Kingdom at 15 for her education. Her musical journey began in 2003 with her debut track “Më Beso,” a collaboration with Florian Mumajesi and Albanian group Produkt 28, earning her the Mikrofoni I Artë award. In 2006, she released her self-titled debut album, a result of collaborations with notable figures in the Albanian music industry.

Besa’s musical career includes victories and notable participations in various contests. She won the R&B category at “Notafest” for her single “Lëshoje Hapin.” In december 2008, she participated in Festivali i Këngës. She reached the semi-finals of Romania’s Selecţia Naţională for the Eurovision Song Contest with “Nothin’ Gonna Change.” She was honored as the Best Female Singer at Top Fest 2010 with her single “Kalorësi i Natës.” In December 2010 she participated again

The third artist in our Who Is series for the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 is Besa Kokëdhima from Albania.

Besa was in born in Fier, Albania. It is easy to say that all of her life was devoted to music and singing. When she was a kid, she had been taking piano classes. The suggestion to use her vocal abilities as well came from one of her music teachers, although her parents were reluctant at first. Nonetheless, Besa participated to many local talent shows and competitions and, at the age of 13, she appeared for the first time on public television with Radio Televizioni Shqiptar.

Her career began shortly after, in the UK, where she moved to pursue her high school studies. There, she had the opportunity to record her first song, a cover of “Street Symphony” by the American singer Monica. With that same song, she participated as a guest in the Albanian music festival Mikrofoni i Artë, in 2002.

Après avoir remporté l'édition 2013 du concours Kënga magjike avec sa chanson Tatuazh në zemër, elle participe, fin décembre 2023, à la 62e édition du Festivali i Këngës avec sa chanson Zemrën n'dorë, où elle est plébiscitée par le public pour représenter l'Albanie au Concours Eurovision de la chanson 2024, à Malmö en Suède[1] avec la chanson TiTAN. Jeunesse et débuts

Besa Kokëdhima naît en 1986 à Fier, alors en République populaire socialiste d'Albanie. À l'âge de 15 ans, elle s'installe au Royaume-Uni afin de poursuivre ses études supérieures[3],[4].

Carrière

C'est en 2003 que Besa sort son premier single, intitulé Më beso, produit par FLori Mumajesi, avec le groupe Produkt 28. La chanson remporte le prix Mikro
